I was born in Turkey, graduated from medical school in Istanbul, and practiced as an ophthalmologist for almost 25 years. I loved my job and my patients, but architecture was my hobby since my childhood. I became involved in real estate first as an investor, and later as an advisor to close friends. When we moved to the United States, I retired and decided to take care of my children in this new country. My husband continued his practice as a radiologist. He encouraged me to delve back into work whenever I wanted and to try a new field I can enjoy. He knew that I would excel as a realtor after having been a successful investor and advisor for so long. Unfortunately, my husband developed lung cancer and passed away after a four-year battle. Following our grief, I decided to honor his advice and finally became a realtor. This has been more than a job for me; I love helping others find their ideal new home and ensuring that their old ones land in good hands. Since embarking on this new career path, my daughters and my friends have been my biggest supporters. As a family, we have always been travelers. We have flown all over the world—Europe, Africa, South America, Australia. We love skiing, swimming, and snorkeling. When not traveling, I am always involved in local communities and charity organizations. I have run three half marathons to raise money for scholarships. At home, I relax with a good book and long walks with our puppy. I live in Waterford, MI, with my two wonderful daughters, Eliana Cansu, 26, and Ceren, 22, and our little Yorkie, Coco. I am fortunate to have both my daughters attending school in Michigan and close to me. We make sure to spend time together, going out and enjoying local restaurants, shows, and concerts. But we also love our home here. To me, happiness is being in my home with my family.
